if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Absolutely. If you are spotting on your period, please be sure to wear a clean tampon or a diva cup to your appointment. Taking ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment is suggested due to increased sensitivity on your cycle.
Your hair should be at least 1/4" long (the length of a grain of rice) in order to wax it. On average, this is about 2-3 weeks for people. Please do not attempt to trim your hair at home before the service.
Any over the counter or prescription strength acne meds should be discontinued a week prior to your appointment to ensure that the skin doesn't lift during the service. This goes for all retinoids, AHA/BHA's, skin lighteners, etc. Please let me know if you are using anything on your skin prior to your appointment.
For the best results, you should get waxed every 3-4 weeks for facial services and every 4-6 weeks for body waxing. The more consistent you are, the less hair that will grow back between waxes. The hair grows back thinner and finer making between waxes easier and easier.
No. It is never ideal to shave between waxes. It strengthens the hair follicle and reverses the progress made by waxing. It can also cause outbreaks of ingrowns.
First, take a deep breath. I'm here to make your first time as painless and comfortable as possible. Make sure to grow your hair out for at least 3 weeks. Make sure to exfoliate the night before and hydrate your skin really well. All of this will contribute to making your experience less painful. The day off, wear loose clothes, cotton or no underwear and take an Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment. When you arrive at your appointment, you're welcome to use the restroom to freshen up should you choose (I always have unscented wipes in my studio). I'll ask you to disrobe your lower half and lay on the table and we'll get started. I will be talking you through everything and keeping conversation to take your mind off of everything and answer any questions you may have. Before you know it (usually 10 minutes or less), you'll be all done and ready to go!
Please arrive to your appointment exfoliated and hydrated. Exfoliating 3 times a week and hydrating daily is a crucial step in ensuring a smooth and easy wax. If you're sensitive to pain, feel free to take an ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment to help your pain levels. Please do not come with oils on your skin and discontinue use of any acids or acne medications for at least 7 days prior to wax.
For 24 hours after your appointment, please refrain from exercise, sex, tight clothing, hot tubs, pools & saunas. Keep the area clean and do not touch it with dirty hands. 48 hours post appointment, make sure to start exfoliating and hydrating your skin. Exfoliation should be 3 days a week and hydrating should be done daily. Make sure to let your skin breathe at night & refrain from wearing synthetic underwear.
